Inspired by old stamps

I vaguely remember that my mom kept my grandfather's stamp collection somewhere around the house, so today while visiting with her, I dug them up. Most of them are from Greece, some from Argentina (when he lived there for many years), and they all look to be from the 1970's. They're all canceled, so I imagine that they don't have much value, but since they have a lot of sentimental value, I think I may turn them into a cool project - still playing with ideas. Let me know if you have any; or if I'm committing an unmentionable stamp sin.

  1. I was inspired by stamps recently too! See my post here: http://www.daydreamincolor.com/?p=20
My mom used to collect them from all over for my uncle. She filled used tissue boxes full of them. I love looking at all the designs.

  2. Beautiful! I love stamps. My boyfriend just took me to Barbados for my birthday and I couldn't leave there without some stamps. He bought me 2 envelopes of used stamps! I have yet to put them on my blog but I will be doing a whole post on the Bajan mail system as it is done so differently on the islands.
There is something magical about knowing that this small stamp has traveled the world. (in most cases)
I wish I didn't have to work today, I am feeling inspired to start creating with all this talk of stamps :)
    Much Love,
